A new year, a new start

Just not for everyone, so it would seem. This poor guy was sitting in the rain out front of old City Hall at Queen St. and Bay St. today. Not the best way to be ringing in the new year. Even though it was raining I just couldn’t take being stuck indoors while it was a balmy 12 C outside. I headed downtown and struggled with my camera and my umbrella. But I did manage to get a few nice shots. I also did a couple of panoramic shots of the inside of the Eaton Centre that really came out nice. I’ll post them tomorrow. Then tonight I went out to dinner in the Annex (Bloor St. W.) with a friend of mine. We had a great time. Walked all around downtown after dinner. I hadn’t seen her in quite some time so it was great to catch up. She’s one of my favourite people. I just wish I could see her more often. Anyway, all in all I think it was a great start to a new year. I’m glad I didn’t let a little rain dampen my spirits. Hope you had a good day too.

You always have a way of reminding us of just how blessed we all really are. Even this gent – he is blessed to have an umbrella! (silver lining, no?)
