Route 66 Bar & Grill

I took this photo last spring shortly after getting my new camera. Actually, I was simply showing it to my Dad up at Eglington Square Mall and snapped off this and another photo. I posted the other photo a long time back but for some reason never posted this one, which I equally like. You can see it here. I might go back and reprocess that first photo since I think I can do better with it. Anyway, I seem to be drawn to leading lines, which this scene has. I also like the row of lights and their shadows on the wall. This photo could also use a bit of reprocessing but I think I’ll let it live as is.

So my weekend wasn’t all that great. I really feel like I wasted Saturday due to being overly tired and lazy. I was very anxious and down about it. But this morning I rallied and got a lot of stuff done and made time to meet my friend downtown. We went to lunch and then walked Yonge St. and later stopped for coffee. I left the camera at home, though. I enjoy her company so much that it totally got me out of my funk. I’m thinking about revising my weekend routine. I tend to enjoy having a leisurely Saturday and Sunday morning with the newspaper and maybe some smooth jazz before I really start my day, but if I want to have my afternoons totally free of the anxiety of unaccomplished chores, I’m going to have to start focusing on those chores in the AM hours. Not really sure how I’m going to put this together, but I think I’m going to make a list of everything I need to do then divide it up between the two days. I don’t know, we’ll see. It’s just a thought at the moment.

On a side note, I’m having trouble with wordpress’s “post tags” section on the dashboard. Not sure what’s going on but I can no longer post anything using that. I have to go into the list of posts and select “quick edit” to add tags. Anyone else having trouble with wordpress?

  1. What a great shot! The red stripe on the side of the building contrasts very nicely with the blue sky, and how the lights come out and down adds a nice element.

I think the lines and the color are on point. I really like the fact the the lines lead you to a person at the end of the shot.

Lazy vs to-do lists, a constant struggle of mine on weekends as well. Let me know if you figure out a good solution.

A day with a friend is a sure-fire way to cure the blues….

I was having similar difficulties with the tags but I didn’t do anything about it and all righted itself. I imagine WP had a glitch.
