It hasn’t hit me yet

Bet ya didn’t know I could play guitar and sing poorly, did ya. 🙂
I made this back in the summer (or maybe late spring, based on the shirt I was wearing) to try out my camera’s movie mode. I stumbled upon it last night when selecting photos for my slide show and figured I’d punish y’all with it. 🙂 Best listened to with the volume waay down. 🙂 Oh, and I mess up the finishing cords at the very end, which I can never get right. Enjoy…

  1. I really enjoyed that, is it your own song? The video is very clear and the sound has been recorded well and the line in the song “and I lost my head” matches your choice of composition here – where is your head!

    • Thanks. No, I wish it was. It’s by Blue Rodeo, a local band that’s made it big here in Canada. LOL… I never thought about that line in the song and my missing head. I’m very camera shy so I make it job one never to be in photos or video. 🙂

Morning Dave – That was so creative and awesome !! I loved that ! My son is currently learning to play the guitar. Well, Starting on Monday at the Beaches Conservatory of Music, he is not doing well in his class at school because everyone could already play according to him. He seems really interested in it though, even though he is failing. I just bought him an acoustic guitar at Scarborough Music at Vic Park in December and he got an electric from his dad for Xmas. Have you ever thought of teaching kids to play? It’s big business… both places charge $23 for half an hour ! I was just singing that song in my car yesterday ! Anyway, again – that was great !

    • Thanks a bunch, Frances…
Oh I’m no where near ready to teach anyone about music. I can hardly play myself. I don’t even know all the cords, just enough to bang off a few songs. Maybe your son would do better with a private tutor who could teach him at him. The main thing is, practice. Just like photography, and writing, and anything else, you get out of it what you put in.
      Happy Sunday!

Yes, I have the private tutor starting on Monday – he’s supposed to be awesome. But I think you could teach kids too. !! I always tell him “practice makes perfect”…all I have to say now is “practice…” lol.

And here I thought we would finally see your face! But alas no. You are a man with many talents and a nice voice, Dave.

Excellent!!! My you are FULL of surprises, aren’t you? 😉 Nice to (ahem) see you come out of your shell more and more. You hav a nice speaking voice and a wonderful singing voice.

PLUS, if I may add, you don’t looke like you are out of shape (or is that guitar hiding a gut??) However, it looks like you could use a little sun if those hands are any indication but I’ll cut you some slack since you live in Canada. 🙂

You actually have a good, folky voice.
