I’ve been thinking about starting a short writing project for the next week, starting tomorrow. To be honest, I don’t know if I’m up to it. Basically, I’d post my usual photo a day, but instead of rambling on about my life and such, I’d write only a very short post sort of like a tweet. I don’t want to limit myself to 140 characters, but certainly it won’t be more than a sentence or three. And each short post would be fictional in nature. The posts may or may not have a connection to the associated photo, I don’t know. I’m attracted to this because for me writing very short stuff is hard as hell. It would be an interesting challenge. On your end it would mean not having to sift through multiple paragraphs of my shit every day. With that said, though, I really don’t know if I’m up to the task. Let’s try it on for size now. I just whipped this up in two minutes without any thought or planning.
“Sunday’s best,” she says, pulling her scarf up and her hat down against the cold.
“Nah, I prefer Saturdays because then you have Sunday to look forward to.”
She elbow’s him and laughs. “Is it really necessary to disagree with everything I say?”
He smiles back, catches a glimpse of magic in her eyes. That magic is directly connected to his heart, it seems. Lost in her eyes he forgets what he was going to say. That happens a lot when he’s with her. She doesn’t know.
“Any day I’m with you is best,” he wants to tell her. Instead, he just shakes his head and walks on.
nice writing
also, that building design is rather interesting, nice lines
Thank you Chloe…
Love the photo and the short. Great characterization in just a short scene. You’re right, the shorter pieces are the most difficult.
Thanks. Glad you like it. Thanks for popping by today.
Well, I must say you are off to a VERY good start! 🙂
Thanks Tracy. The hardest part is coming up with an idea on the fly like that. Once I get started I’m fine.
Reblogged this on Conceptual Art.
I love it; I love it….especailly the story
Thank you Lulu, I’m really glad you like it. 🙂
