Alone on Easter

I went out and toured a dead city on Easter Sunday. There were so few vehicles and people about that it seemed like the end of times. I guess everyone was at home and enjoying family on Easter, as it should be. During my walkabout I came across this woman sitting alone feeding the birds. It really tugged at my heart. I couldn’t tell if she was a street person, but she sort of looked like one. I snapped this shot from the hip, although I suspect she knew. We never made eye contact — that’s the Toronto way. Anyway, another late start today, unfortunately. Happy Tuesday.

  1. after I looked at her shoes I realized her legs must be crossed. At first I thought she had her shoes on the wrong feet. The pic is very poignant.
