The Room

This photo is almost exactly a year old now. Looks like it was not a bad day. The people are wearing short sleeved shirts. This is the south side of The Bay department store, I think on Richmond St. just west of Yonge St.

The weekend’s been pretty uneventful for me. I did make it out last night to my best friend’s place for dinner. That was fun. Today I made a butternut squash soup that’s going to be pretty yummy. I roasted butternut squash, pears, an onion, a head of garlic and a couple of parsnips. While that was happening I fried up a bunch of bacon (everything tastes better with bacon) and tossed in some spices, such as curry, cinnamon, fresh nutmeg, fresh ginger and pepper. Once everything came together I threw in a handful of toasted walnuts before I blended it all. Back on the stove I finished it off with some 1/2 & 1/2 cream and a cup or so of frozen corn. So far it’s very yummy. Some will end up in the freezer and some will come to work with me this week, as dinner for when I’m working the later shift.

Did you tell everyone to stay back while you took the shot? 🙂 That soup sounds yummy minus the corn.. I made that last weekend. My weekend – uneventful too. On a weight loss program, counting my carbs, proteins, fibres and fat… in everything!!! Went for a walk with the dog on this gloomy day… that was my weekend. Fun times!

    • No. I was setting up for the shot and notice them coming along. Not even sure they saw me. I snapped the photo before they got in my way.
The soup was indeed very yummy. I like my soups to have some texture and I love corn, so kill two birds with one ladle.
Good for you. I know how hard it can be. I’ve been doing good but I kept having crackers with peanut butter, almost nightly. Last week I finally just threw everything out. Clearly, I have no willpower when it comes to peanut butter.
I don’t think I can watch American Horror Story, although it intrigues me. I used to love scary movies but after Paranormal Activity scared the crap out of me I sorta gave them up.

Oh…and I watched the entire first season of American Horror Story!
