Yonge Street, Toronto

They say that Yonge Street is the longest street in Canada. It actually becomes Hwy 11 north of the city but for all intents and purposes it’s still considered Yonge St. Anyway, I took this shot near sunset back in August. I recall it was a steamer out there. That’s all over now, of course, what with fall here. I have a three day weekend but it’s looking like it’ll be rained out for me. Figures — I got a new camera and can’t even get out to play with it. Well, maybe Sunday.

Today was an interesting day at work. We had a half dozen pies brought in, with ice cream and whip cream; and coffee to boot. The occasion: Employee of the Month. It was fun. The odd part is the employee of the month was me. I certainly did not deserve it but I do appreciate the sentiment. The winner is selected by his or her peers, not by management. I think my friend Lulu, who I work with, sort of pushed people to vote for me. That’s just a guess of course. And a couple of the guys I work with took me out to lunch, to boot. It’s really hard for me to accept this sort of thing. I just don’t feel deserving, I don’t know. Anyway, it was a nice surprise and a good day overall. And Friday! Have a good weekend.

i’m sure you are deserving. I bet you work very hard and are a bit of a perfectionist!! Just a guess. That was very nice of them. I guess the For Sale sign is not going up on your lawn anytime soon !! 🙂
