Salt & Pepper Still Life

Brickworks2013-311-EDITED

I shot this Saturday afternoon at our dinner stop after a long day of walking. I played with the light and shadow to achieve the desired effect. It wasn’t nearly that dark. So back to work today, but it’s only a four day week. I have next Friday and Monday off. Yay! Oh, and I upgraded to Lightroom 5 last night. Didn’t get to play with it much but tried out the one feature in which I was most interested and it works like a charm. Can’t wait to start editing with it. Hope you have a good week.

Curious about your settings on this shot and also your thoughts on Lightroom 5. I am wondering about the upgrade if there is much difference between 4 and 5.

    • Hi Sayvan. I shot this at F4, 1/40th, ISO 100, EV 0, 24-105mm @ 105mm. I then darkened the surroundings in post.
LR5 seems like it’s got some really winning features. I would suggest searching “Lightroom 5 new features” on YouTube. There are plenty of videos that take you through the various improvements. The cloning tool alone is worth the upgrade, at least for me.
