Drove up to Caledon today with the photo walks group. Had a good outing. It rained most of the day but we made the best of it. One good thing about photography in the rain is you can get some awesome shots of tree roots. I took this with my Samsung smart phone, believe it or not. I had by 5D Mrk III with me but didn’t feel like carrying it around in the rain. I’m quite surprised at the shots I managed to get out of my phone. Hope you’re having a great weekend, too. Enjoy.

if you can make such great photos with your photo, no wonder that you can make such amazing photos with your camera 🙂 but it’s really crazy, I couldn’t tell that this is a phone-camera, if you haven’t wrote it… the quality is really good 🙂
Thanks Teo, that’s nice of you to say. I think people get too hung up on gear, thinking they need the best gear to get the best pictures. Fact is, photography is about seeing and knowing what to look for. The gear is just an instrument to capture what you see. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to have a good camera and lens, but it’s not necessary to create good photographs. Cheers.
