Channelling Fred Herzog

Christmas Day 2015-101-EDITED

With this photo I’m channelling my inner Fred Herzog. If you don’t know Herzog’s colour photography, then you should google him and check out his images from Vancouver in the 50s and 60s. Back then colour photography was pretty much dismissed by people in the industry, except to those in advertising. Fine art photography was always black & white. But Herzog had a great eye and really knew how to make colour work. Once you see his stuff you’ll understand this photo better. It’s a bit of a ripoff, but hey what can you do, right?
