Happy Good Friday

50mmPrimeDay-175-EDITED

These two religious groups share the corner at Yonge & Dundas almost every weekend. They are very dedicated to their respective causes. Now, with what’s going on in the world today, you might think that the Islamic guys are the most, um, vocal. But I’ve spoken to them on more than one occasion and they are nothing but respectful and polite and thoughtful. The Jesus group, on the other hand, get their message across through bullhorns and by basically telling anyone who walks by how they are going straight to hell if they don’t buy exactly what these guys are selling. They spew vile and hate, although they don’t seem to engage the Islamic group at all. I’m not religious but being from one of the most multi-cultural cities on the planet, Toronto, Canada, I’m pretty much blind to the who “us and them” sort of thinking. There’s really only us, the people of planet earth. We come in a variety of colours and have a variety of different beliefs, but we are all still human beings. Now, with that said, I do see the “us and them” when we’re talking about terrorists, but I’m totally comfortable with that. Anyway, Happy Good Friday. Let’s use today to remember we all share this planet and we need to get along with one another in peace.

Shot with my Canon 50mm f1.4 prime lens @ f11, 1/60th of a second and ISO 250. At f11 this lens is super sharp and contrasty.

  2. Hi .. I echo your sentiments and sadly have to acknowledge your observations. We are quite a group of us aren’t we?! Great photo! A true example of ‘a picture is worth a 1000 words’!
