The Wall

LoadedPierogi-166-EDITED

There’s an old mental health hospital on Queen St W. I was walking the grounds and along the back end there’s this wall that divides the hospital grounds from a new mini subdivision. Something about it caught my eye. I actually stopped and thought about it a while, taking a few random shots. I think a couple of things are at play here. 1. Is the wall meant to keep the people in the subdivision out, or is it there to keep them in? 2. The ambiguity attracted me. Like, the upper floors of the houses only hint at what lays on the other side, and the age of the wall itself raises questions, since it’s obviously been there far longer than the houses behind it.

Anyway, it’s one of my favourites from the summer. Hope you like it.
