Various colour shots around Toronto

Here are a few shots that aren’t street photography. More urban landscape, portraiture, documentary and actual landscape.

Next time I’m going to post some black & white images, but for now you can always check them out on my Instagram feed.

Toronto Streets in Colour

Here are a few more colour street shots for ya. A couple of these will definitely make my upcoming colour street photography book. Mind you, it’s a loooong way off. I have so many photos to go through, and I’m just not putting in the time necessary.

If you prefer black & white street photography, feel free to check out my b/w images on Instagram.

City in Colour

A few more colour street shots for you. I’d love to post one a day as I used to, but WordPress messed with their publishing tool and made it far more arduous and time consuming that it used to be, so nowadays I try to post a few images once a week or so. Not sure what the better approach is, but this works for me. Hope it works for you, too.

And if you’d like to see my b/w street photography, I post all that to my Instagram feed. Be sure to follow me there, if you like b/w photography.

Random Colour Street Shots

Here’s another four recently taken colour street shots. I doubt any will make my upcoming colour street photography book but I still like them.

For my black & white street photography, check me out on Instagram.

Urban Landscapes

Got out both days this weekend for a little photo therapy. The above shots are more urban landscapes than pure street photography. Boy, this is absolutely my favourite weather — not too hot and no humidity. Simply, fall jacket weather. Based on these images I know our downtown looks pretty quiet but it was actually quite busy. I just waited for the right moment before firing the shutter. In the second photo you’ll notice the guy walking down the middle of the street. Well, they closed Yonge Street for a part of Sunday to encourage people to get out and walk. I’m no fan of road closures, but Yonge’s usually not that busy on a Sunday morning anyway, so closing it has little impact on adjacent streets, traffic wise. Anyway, hope y’all had a good weekend, too. Happy Monday.

P.S. Follow me on Instagram for my black & white photography.

Night Street Photography

Thought I’d share some of my colour night photography. To be honest, I’m not that skilled at night photography. I find that editing colour night images very difficult. The amount of tweaking I have to do in Lightroom (LR) with white balance and split toning is tiresome. I know that if I had the latest version of LR it would be much easier, but I’d give up photography altogether before I’d ever pay Adobe a monthly subscription fee. So for now I’m stuck with LR6, but at least I own it. If I ever buy a new camera or lens that’s not supported by LR6 my plan is to move to Capture One, which is a robust photo editing software. Anyway, these ones came out okay, I think, but man it was a lot of work. Hope you like them.

If you’re wondering why I’m posting a lot of colour work on my blog lately, it’s because I’m posting only Black & White images to my Instagram account. I figured I’d split it up. If you’d like to see my b/w work, visit my Instagram.
