Toronto beaches at sunset

Well I made it out today for a walk down the beach. I almost didn’t bother with the camera but then figured I’d inevitably miss a shot if I left it at home. I ended up actually getting a few shots I like. I’m a street photography first and foremost so shots like this one are not really my thing. When they work out I’m always pleasantly surprised. Anyway, here you go. Hope you like it.

  1. Beautiful shot! Late-day sun offers some pretty amazing light, and I love the gradual tones in the sky! I’ve been getting into b&w more and more recently, but sometimes it just has to be in color to tell the whole story.

    • Couldn’t agree more, Holly. In b & w you’d miss all the lovely sunsetty colours. Technically speaking, the one issue with this shot is I placed the horizon line dead centre in the frame; but I did so because there just wasn’t enough going on in the sky, like puffy clouds, to justify giving up more room for it.

Nice shot. I usually do landscapes and scenery, when I get a nice street shot I’m always pleasantly surprised so I know how you feel!
