Sailing ship on Lake Ontario

This shot dates back to January 6th, believe it or not. I still can’t get over the winter we’ve had. Last weekend was bloody cold but this week we’re back into the above zero temps again. This weekend, which is a long one for us here in Ontario Canada, is supposed to be above zero and nice. I’m sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop, weather wise. Never could figure out what the hell that meant. Anyway….

So today at work was pretty much a blur. My insomnia woke me up at 3:30ish this morning again and I’ve been pretty much a walking freakin’ zombie ever since. Thank god we’re not that busy. I’ve taken on a special project at work and spent the afternoon working on that, so the day sort of sailed by. Tomorrow night after work I’m supposed to be going to my best friend’s birthday party. It’s her 40th. If I don’t get a good night’s sleep tonight I don’t know how I’ll manage. Then Saturday’s another photo walk. It’s in the beaches for a change, which is right in my hood. Close to home is appealing, but at the same time there’s nothing in my hood that interests me. I’ve seen it all my life. But it’ll be fun to hang with my peeps and I’m sure I’ll get a few nice shots.

My area is short about 60 inches of snow for the season and we’ve enjoyed temps about 30 degrees F above normal. It rained last night..unheard of in February.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if a shoe dropped on your head when you left for work tomorrow morning?

  2. Our local news stations are predicting a mild March, too (of course, what do they know??) I wouldn’t mind it, though! This shot is stunning – the colors in the sky are gorgeous! Was this a morning or evening shot? I keep telling myself that I’m going to get out shooting in the morning sometime….. but I’m just not a morning person!!

    • Yeah, it was a Saturday morning on January 7th. Probably around 10:30 AM.
I used to be way more of a morning person but since I’m up five days a week at 5:30 AM for work, I tend to like to sleep in a bit on the weekends. Nevertheless, I can never seem to sleep past about 8:00 AM.
